VMware Engineer
vSphere, Horizon, Active Directory, Servers -Troubleshooting, Administration, Implementation & Support

up to £60-65k plus bonus

Perfect People have been retained to help our VMware partner client find a new VMware engineer for the Desktop Mobility team. This is due to this highly exciting client winning large projects and promoting team members to new roles.
The VMware engineer will be responsible for providing support, administration and maintenance and upkeep of the award-winning VDI platform.
Job Responsibilities

• Create and manage virtual desktop pools, templates, and applications within the award-winning VDI environment.
• Configure user profiles, group policies, and virtual desktop images & Integrate and manage user authentication and access control through technologies like Active Directory and two-factor authentication.
• Monitor and troubleshoot VDI infrastructure for performance, security, and availability.
• Maintenance
  • Conduct routine maintenance tasks, such as updates & patches,
  • Optimize the VDI environment for performance, scalability, and resource efficiency, with a focus on the customer's unique needs.
• Provide remote and on-site technical support to end-users and resolve VDI-related issues.
• Conduct training sessions and create documentation to help end-users understand and use the VDI environment

 
Technical Skillset & Experience

• Must have experience with operation and administration of Windows Server 2016 and Windows 10 22H2 & later
• Must have experience with Active Directory, OUs and GPOs – including multi-site AD deployments.
• Must have experience with VMware products including vSphere, vCenter and ESXi.
• Any experience within VDI, in particular Horizon will be a huge plus.
• VCP-DTM or VCP-DCV certification will be very well received.
• Must have worked in a client-facing role in a similar support/admin environment
• Understanding of storage concepts, architecture and storage platforms (e.g. SAN/NAS/DAS)
