We are looking for a Senior Network Engineer but could possibly stretch up to a architect for this role. Experience working within an ISP is pivotal to this role.
Job Role
- Responsible for the Design, integration deployment and evaluation of full End-to-end network - (Core, Distribution, Aggregation and Access).
- You will have a strong understanding of Networks, including all layers of the OSI model.
- Act as a senior member of the networking team, offering experience and knowlledge as a senior escalation point and as a mentor to junior staff.
Responsibilities
- Provide 3rd to 4th line support - partake in the on-call rota
- Design solutions to cost, time and quality.
- Analyse technical architecture of the Core, ditribution and access levels to understand issues, points of failure and provide recommendations to improve the network
- Create HLD & LLD design documents in line with architectural standards
- Investigate and develop automation for network configurations and subscriber provisioning
- Design, develop, deploy, manage, and maintain, multi-vendor, multi-technology, Network infrastructure.
- Solve complex network issues
Required experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a Network engineering environment within a ISP.
- The succesful candidate will be interested in ahands-on approach an dthink outside of the box.
- Strong Cisco / Juniper extended experience: IOS XE-XR-ISR, MXes, QFXes, ACXes etc.
- Advanced knowledge of multiple network technologies IPv6, CGNAT, Ethernet, Switching, QinQ, VPLS, L2VPN MPLS, BNG, PIM and Firewalls security practices.
- Good understanding of the major routing protocols: BGP, IS-IS, OSPF.
- Strong understanding of how to connect street cabinets together to bring full resiliency at the L1, L2 and L3 of the OSI model
- Experience implementing technologies with a focus on operability, reliability, and scalability.
- Any experience with Network automation is a major plus and will benefit any application
