Our client, a rapidly growing Service Provider client has retained us to assist with the growth of their Service Provider Network team. The company is experiencing huge growth and exciting opportunities are being created along the way for entrepreneurial employees.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Head of Networks, the Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for providing HLD/LLD, project deployment and escalated specialist support where needed.
·Provide expertise to architecture and/or management to help make decisions and set priorities concerning all aspects of the network environment.
·Collaborate with external suppliers and vendors for opportunities including the automation, network monitoring, reporting and analysis.
·Demonstrate a solid understanding of the underlying Platform to our internal customers.
·Participate as an active member of a transformation programme team, including daily and weekly meetings.
·Create and implement low-level designs in alignment with architecture principles and standards.
·Communicate with leadership teams on project requirements, status, obstacles and team performance.
·Ensuring all changes to the network are documented through Change Management Process.
·Contributing to the improvement of processes and approaches within the department.
·adept and creative skills for solving complex network and security challenges across multiple functions.
·Troubleshoot issues efficiently while effectively communicating escalations and outcomes.
·Provide guidance and mentoring to other engineers, supporting the design, implementation and troubleshooting when required.
·On-call duty at the 4th line support level.
Knowledge and Skills:
·Highly self-motivated and able to take on responsibility for tasks and projects.
·The aptitude to work autonomously as well as part of a team.
·Knowledge of multiple network technologies IP, Ethernet, Switching, QinQ, VPLS, MPLS and Firewalls security practices.
·Able to develop CGNAT - Ipv6 strategy is desirable.
·Practical knowledge of BGP, OSPF and layer 3 traffic engineering.
·Experience in documentation of technical issues.
·Provide network documentation including HLD and LLD.
·Ability to provide and understand IP network designs.
·CCNP or Juniper equivalent qualification.
·Good understanding of the major routing protocols.
·Excellent organisation skills, ability to prioritise, delegate and self-motivate for continuous improvement.
·Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
·Good verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to liaise and deal with people at all levels both internal and external to the business.
Education and Qualifications:
Any of the following will be well received: CCIE, JNCP, IPv6 - CGNAT, CCNP Design, CCNP SP, any Juniper experience and qualifications or service provide background is desirable but not essential.
